Why Manhattan pickup is different from "NYC" pickup
When competitors quote "NYC to Miami" they usually mean Long Island City, Queens, or the Bronx — places where their carrier can actually park a 75-foot tractor-trailer. Manhattan is a different problem:
- Most Manhattan streets cannot accommodate a 10-car carrier. Width, low signal mounts, alternate-side parking, NYPD curbside enforcement, and the simple fact that a 75-ft truck can't make most Manhattan turns.
- Smaller "city-friendly" carriers (4–6 car) exist but cost $200–$400 more for the local leg, and you wait longer for one to be available.
- The real workaround: meet the carrier at a designated lot. Adds 30–60 minutes to your day, saves you $200+.
The four meet-point options that actually work
- Long Island City (Queens): Closest to Manhattan. Plenty of commercial lots near the BQE on-ramp. 15–25 min from Midtown by car. Best for East Side, Midtown, Downtown.
- Bronx (near the Major Deegan / I-87): Easy carrier access, several truck-friendly lots. Best for UES, UWS, Harlem, Inwood.
- Westside / 12th Ave terminal lots: Limited — some near the GW Bridge approach. Best for UWS, West Village, Hell's Kitchen.
- Newark / Jersey City (NJ side): If you're already heading out of the city, sometimes easier. Offers more carrier flexibility.
Manhattan neighborhood-specific notes
Upper East Side / Upper West Side
Meet-point recommended (Bronx or LIC). Most residential garages don't accommodate transport trucks. If you have a private driveway in the 90s+, sometimes accessible off-peak (before 8am or after 8pm).
Midtown (Times Sq, Hell's Kitchen, Murray Hill)
Meet-point required. Zero curbside option. LIC closest.
Downtown (FiDi, Tribeca, SoHo)
Meet-point required. LIC or Brooklyn meet-points work. Some Tribeca garages have loading docks but most don't accept transport trucks.
Harlem / Washington Heights / Inwood
Some residential streets accessible to smaller carriers (4-car). Otherwise Bronx meet-point. The GW Bridge approach is your friend here.
Miami delivery — where condos vs houses changes everything
Brickell / Downtown
High-rise condos. Most buildings have loading docks but require advance scheduling with property management. Call your building's management 48 hours before delivery. Loading dock height matters.
South Beach / Mid-Beach
Street delivery often possible (Collins Ave, Washington Ave). Watch parking restrictions — heavy enforcement. Condos: same loading dock rules as Brickell.
Aventura, Sunny Isles, Hallandale, Hollywood
Snowbird condo central. Most buildings allow transport trucks at the porte-cochère with prior notice. Friday/Saturday delivery in season can be chaotic — traffic and gate logjams.
Coconut Grove / Coral Gables
Residential, generally truck-accessible. Some streets have low-hanging banyan trees — give the carrier a heads-up if you live on one.
Key Biscayne
Toll bridge access. Some carriers refuse Key Biscayne deliveries due to bridge restrictions. We'll tell you upfront if your carrier requires meet-point on the mainland.

Estimates only. Final price depends on vehicle, season, pickup/delivery accessibility, and current carrier supply on the lane.
How the route actually runs
Carriers on this lane take I-95 South the whole way — there is no shortcut. Typical 5-day breakdown: Day 1 NY-area pickup. Day 2 NJ → DE → MD → VA. Day 3 SC and GA. Day 4 into FL, stops in Jacksonville, Daytona. Day 5 Miami-area deliveries.
Personal items: Most carriers allow up to ~100 lbs of personal items in the trunk at the driver's discretion. Items inside the vehicle are NOT covered by the carrier's cargo insurance — only the vehicle itself is. Don't ship anything you can't replace.
