Why Long Island pickup is easier than NYC pickup
- Most Nassau and Suffolk residential addresses have driveways that can accommodate a 75-ft, 10-car carrier — or street parking on a street the carrier can navigate.
- No alternate-side parking enforcement like Manhattan. Carriers can sit at the curb for loading.
- Plenty of nearby parking lots at supermarkets, malls, and commuter lots if a specific address won't work.
- Sunrise Highway / LIE / Northern State Parkway all give carriers fast exit routes to I-95 South via the Verrazzano or GW Bridge.
When meet-points still come up
- Hamptons / East End during summer: low-hanging tree branches or narrow village lanes the carrier won't risk. Meet at a commuter lot off Sunrise Hwy.
- Gated communities: Some North Shore (Old Westbury, Lattingtown) or South Shore (Atlantic Beach, Point Lookout) gated areas restrict transport trucks.
- Apartment complexes with strict parking: Adjacent lot or street usually works.
Nassau County notes
Curbside pickup typical: Garden City, Mineola, Hempstead, Massapequa, Plainview, Hicksville, Manhasset, Great Neck, Port Washington, Roslyn.
Meet-point sometimes: Old Westbury (gated), Atlantic Beach (bridge restrictions), Lawrence (Five Towns narrow streets).
Suffolk County notes
Curbside pickup typical: Huntington, Smithtown, Commack, Brentwood, Patchogue, Bay Shore, Lindenhurst, Babylon, Sayville, Riverhead.
Meet-point sometimes: Most of the Hamptons (summer), some Stony Brook condos, North Fork wine country narrow lanes.
Montauk: distance from highway adds +$100–$200 or requires meet-point in Bridgehampton. North Fork (Greenport, Cutchogue, Mattituck): usually driveway-accessible.
Tampa delivery — also easy
Tampa proper
Downtown / Hyde Park / Channelside / Bayshore / South Tampa: easy carrier access. Wide streets. Westshore / Carrollwood / Town N' Country: suburban — easy. East Tampa / USF area: easy.
St. Petersburg / Clearwater
Downtown St. Pete: mostly accessible. Treasure Island / St. Pete Beach: carrier-accessible on wider streets; some narrow beachfront lanes require meet-point. Clearwater Beach: bridges + narrow streets sometimes mean meet-point at a mainland lot.
Sarasota / Bradenton (often combined with Tampa)
Many Long Island → Tampa shipments actually deliver to Sarasota, Bradenton, or Lakewood Ranch. Same carrier, slight detour. Add 1 day. Siesta Key bridge restrictions can require meet-point.

LI → Tampa typically prices $50–$150 below Manhattan → Miami: easier pickup, carrier-friendly delivery, ~80 miles shorter.
Estimates only. Final price depends on vehicle, season, pickup/delivery accessibility, and current carrier supply on the lane.
How the route runs
LI → Tampa carriers take I-95 South to Jacksonville, then I-75 South to Tampa. Typical 5-day breakdown: Day 1 LI pickup → Days 2–3 I-95 corridor → Day 4 into Jacksonville → Day 5 Tampa-area deliveries.
Personal items: Most carriers allow up to ~100 lbs of personal items in the trunk at the driver's discretion. Items inside the vehicle are NOT covered by the carrier's cargo insurance — only the vehicle itself is. Don't ship anything you can't replace.
